What is Fluent?
A voice layer for Windows. Say what you want in plain words and Fluent works out the steps — it opens the app, finds the record, fills the field, and stops the moment you tell it to.
Does anything leave my computer?
Fluent reads the screen through the Windows accessibility tree rather than by photographing it, so pixels usually stay on the device. Every model request that does leave is written to an append-only audit log, and in HIPAA mode the endpoints it may reach are a list your IT deploys.
Is it watching my screen all the time?
No. It looks when you ask it to do something. Screen capture can also be switched off outright, and the agent falls back to the accessibility tree rather than refusing to work.
What can it actually do?
Open apps and windows, move around by the accessibility tree, dictate, read the screen back to you, fill in forms, and run multi-step tasks. Anything it cannot undo asks you first.
Is it free?
Everything that runs on the device is free forever — speech, dictation, read-aloud, hotkeys, window and accessibility navigation. Only agent runs are metered.
What if I run out of agent runs?
Fluent degrades; it never locks you out. The allowance is never zero, because an expired card is not allowed to take away somebody’s only way of using their computer.
